Description Bibliostar is the exhibition of services, technology and equipment for libraries which will be held in Milan at the Palazzo delle Stelline on 11th and 12 th March 2010, at the same time as the conference organized by Biblioteche oggi. As in previous editions, the cooperation of authoritative institutional and professional partners is a guarantee of high standards and wide participation by librarians and operators in the sector. This is the  fifteenth edition of Bibliostar: an important achievement reached thanks to the particular attention placed on the role of new technologies in relation both to new training needs which are strongly influenced and shaped by them and to the part that they can play in advanced learning activities. This is a path that we intend to follow also in the next edition, offering to the participants an important chance for knowledge enhancement and for the companies participating to meet motivated and active librarians open to the market changes and offers. Also for the fifteenth edition an increase in attendance is foreseen, a trend which has continued over the years thanks to the choice of subjects of great current interest and the high scientific level of the reports given. Attendance at this year’s event was well over 2,500, confirming Bibliostar and the Biblioteche oggi Conference as the initiative with the greatest participation by Italian librarians. In addition, it is worth mentioning that about 110 exhibiting companies took part in the exhibition, representing the entire spectrum of services offered to libraries. Among them there was a significant presence of foreign firms, a clear sign of the prestige which the event is winning, also at an international level, and confirmed in recent years by the participation – both at the convention and at the exhibition – of an international institution like the IFLA.
